The aim of the course is the systematic learning of the basic principles and production processes of an audiovisual work that can serve educational goals in the school program or in wider activities, creating the conditions for the parallel cultivation of audiovisual literacy. The main objectives of the course are:
- Informing about the possibilities of multiple use of video in the educational process in relation to the needs of systematic cultivation of audiovisual literacy
- The familiarization with the basic mechanisms of audio-visua lnarration and the students' acquisition of practical skills in the planning, implementation and processing of audio-visual material in a way that leads to the synthesis of integrate daudio-visual narratives,
- The understanding of possibilities provided by audiovisual language with the possibility of representing and expressing reality and the influence it simultaneously exerts on the ways in which reality is approached.
Thematic sections of the course are:
- The concept of audio-visual literacy and the basic directions of its systematic cultivation and inclusion in the various levels of the educational process,
- The basic elements of the audio-visual language (production process, illustrated scenario (storyboard), decoupage, shots, downloads, image and sound editing,
- Models of design, production and educational use of the video with references to the use of existing material and the design and production of videos by the students,
- Evolution of audio-visual language in the modern era. Artistic and experimental searches,
- Relationship between perceptual process and educational and cultural data. Image and reality-sound and reality.
The course includes a grid of exercises for mastering the basic structural tools of audio-visual narration with the evolutionary use of various media (text, series of photos, complex audio-visual narration).
Writing a short film analysis text containing (narrative, aesthetic, technical) so that it can be used for educational purposes. The final exercise concerns the creation of a short video on a topic chosen by each student according to his/her interests and with a specific educational character.
